How we helped others with their bailiff problems

Chris Knight, Aberystwyth

High Court Enforcement warrant officers came to my house to enforce a County Court Judgement by threatening to take away my van and tools, effectively disabling my income. Straight away, your website caught my eye - very easy to read and everything was explained in simple terms.

I found you to be very professional. You made my bailiff problem easy to understand and you spoke to me in layman's terms rather than in legal jargon.

I would not hesitate to refer you on to anyone who has a problem with a bailiff. I got what I wanted without any fuss whatsoever, which was that the bailiff action to be stopped and my case to put back into court so that I could either defend it or pay the original amount, but no bailiff "fees" on top.

Thanks to you, I've saved over £1,500 bailiff fees, certainly worth paying your £125 fee for!

Kyla Smithfield, Birmingham

My partner, Peter, contacted you this morning for advice about my problem with a parking bailiff. The bailiff was threatening to get locksmiths etc. I just wanted to say thank you for your clear and concise advice. I went to the court today and have a hearing date in two weeks' time in order to challenge the original fines and the bailiffs have been put on hold. A great relief! What made my fears worse was that the bailiffs were threatening to gain entry using the Domestic Violence Act - a horrible irony given I have a history of suffering domestic violence. Anyway, thank you again John.

Anna James, Guildford
A Christmas tale:
Bailiffs clamped my motability car and demanded £1,300 (!) for 2 parking tickets. Despite explaining that I was a disabled single parent, he refused to enter a reasonable agreement; demanding half there and then and the other half in 28 days.
I looked on the internet and found your site and, although worried at first that I might be losing money I could ill afford, your site impressed me and I decided to take a chance so I emailed you. You emailed back very promptly and told me what action to take. This stopped the bailiff action while it was being processed. You then gave me further advice and within 7 days of first contacting you, I had a letter from the courts to say the warrant had been suspended … and with it all bailiff action. Later, I received a letter saying I only needed to pay the two PCNs, not the bailiff fees on top.
Despite it being the Christmas period, you were most helpful; telephoning or emailing me to let me know you were dealing with the matter, and again to let me know how things were progressing. This was very reassuring; it was a great relief to know that I no longer had to deal with bailiffs or worry about the car being clamped and of course saving the £1,300 was a huge burden lifted from my chest.
Thank you so much for all your help, Christmas would have been a different story without it!

David Dominic, Reading

I must admit that I was a bit dubious at first when browsing your website because your service seemed too good to be true but after the first minute of our initial contact I could tell you were a genuine person.

You dealt with my problem swiftly and worked late into the night on my behalf, you returned my calls as and when you said you would and always kept me informed on the law regarding what bailiffs can and can't do as and when any letter or visit happened.

Unlike a certain government department or charity (which has a three letter name beginning with C and ending in B) who advised me incorrectly, you knew your stuff and had I have followed their advice, I would have lost everything. You have made me aware of my rights as a vulnerable person.

Your £125 one-off fee, when compared to solicitor's hourly rate has saved me only £160, but the important thing is that I never have to meet a bailiff again.

I would have no hesitation in letting other people know about your service and would highly recommend you to anyone who is experiencing the unfortunate task of dealing with bailiffs. You did what you said you were going to do, and did so in a swift, precise, and professional manner.

Julia, Hampshire

Hello John - I wanted to bring you up to date with what has happened since I acted on your advice.

Before I called you, I tried to get an appointment with the CAB, phoning every day for two weeks and each time getting an answer machine message saying that I had phoned outside of office hours - I hadn't. I suppose that they are just too busy to answer the phone.

When I looked on the internet and read about other people's experiences my blood ran cold. It seems that bailiffs' often criminal behaviour was legitimised by our local authorities. I was worried about the effect on my family of having a bailiff and the threatened van and locksmith at the door.

When I contacted you, you were as good as your word - you responded quickly to my emails and telephone messages and provided me with the right ideas words to use in my communications to the Council and the bailiff.

The result is that the bailiff has halved their bill, but much more importantly to me, the Council has called off the bailiffs and has accepted my offer to pay direct to them. I could not be more relieved- it's a huge weight off my mind!

You perform a fantastic service, John, and I would recommend that anyone who is having problems with bailiffs to get in touch with you.

Leslie Calhoun, Liverpool

John acted immediately to allay my fears and explain what was going on. He was always professional and knowledgeable and his service was excellent - at first I thought it was too good to be true but then things started to go my way pretty quickly and we beat the bailiff, who was acting crafty and dubiously within days.

If you are being hounded by a bailiff, call John. It will be the best few quid you could possibly spend under the circumstances.

John knows what to do and saved me the £500 they were demanding.

Tony Keeble, Burnley

Not only did John manage to make the magistrate’s distress warrant null and void for two motoring offences, the added bonus was that both the convictions themselves were also made null and void. A huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders now.

With bailiff costs of over £560 John saved me a small fortune.

If you're having problems with bailiffs then the FIRST person you should speak to is John Galt. Thank you very much!

Rob Ford, Leicester

John, I’d like to thank you for helping me out.

I was in a real state; the bailiffs wanted £650 for a parking fine I had no idea I had. I had all the usual threats i.e. we'll take the van away, forced entry, etc.

I must admit at this time that I reached the end of my tether and would have loved to have hit these two for their stupidity. Thankfully I didn't and went onto your site and found much needed help. After talking to you for a few minutes, I felt reassured, calmly walked outside and had a quick chat with my new buddies!

They still insisted that my van was going to be towed away. I told them that wouldn't be a problem as long as they didn't mind me taking legal action against them personally for taking away my only means of making a living.
Anyway, the tow truck didn't turn up and after various documentation you helped me draft over the next few weeks, I had a letter from the bailiff company handing the fine back to the council.

The one-off fee of £125 you charged is a fraction of that charged by a solicitor and everything was sorted so quickly and efficiently. I’ve saved about £650 in bailiff charges. Your personal one-to-one advice has been invaluable. Thanks again John!

Michael Scott - Blackpool

John, I have to admit that at first I was sceptical about your website. You see plenty of scam sites hoping for you to hand over your cash for something of no value...in the end I called you, questioned your money-back guarantee and have not regretted doing so in the slightest.

With your help, I was able to have the bailiff simply leave my house quietly with his tail between his legs having barely said a word to him and have my fine returned to the court where it belonged.... Having bailiffs threatening locksmiths for missing a £10 payment is ridiculous.

Not only have I saved £267 in bailiff “fees”, but my fine was reduced by a further £250 at the court. In total I saved over £500 and had the bonus of having to break the bad news to the bailiff. A real shame indeed!

Folks, just give John a call and see if he can help you; I'm glad I did!

Gordon Angelo, London W5

Hello John :-)

You remember I hired you last Monday? Well, it's Monday again.

I had a letter from the council this morning saying they are placing all recovery action on hold and will allow direct payments against the arrears. This means I don't have to pay baliff fees, LOL!

My old friend (the bailiff) didn't show up on Friday, so I'm guessing this was why.

Im really relieved!! Thank you so much, well worth your fee!

Ken Downe, Swansea

I had High Court bailiffs coming to my house over a County Court Judgment that I didn’t even know that I had and I received threatening letters and phone calls as a result. I actually felt physically sick. I couldn’t afford a solicitor and didn’t know what to do, so I just started googling trying to find information and advice about bailiffs.

I phoned John Galt and from that day onwards my life changed. He assured me that bailiff action could be stopped if we implemented certain legal steps and processes and gave me confidence and even brought me out of my panic and fear by telling me bailiff jokes (they weren’t very funny) and generally making light of the whole thing whilst we worked together to prepare the necessary documents.

Before I spoke to John, I was so despondent that I didn’t think that it was an option to beat the bailiff but we did; we took it all the way back to the High Court and won!

l can tell you now, don’t sit back hoping it will go away because trust me, it won’t. Ring John and let him take the stress away. Top class service well worth the money, I would recommend John Galt onto anyone with a bailiff problem. Solicitors can't hold a candle to him in terms of his speed, knowledge and affordable fees.

Charles Robertson, North Kent

I was in real trouble with bailiffs constantly coming round to my house, sending threatening letters through the post and making my life hell until I hired John Galt from this site.

He stepped in and calmed me from my initial call right to the finish about ten days later, which is proof of the warrants being cancelled. John provided me with a first class service in a very helpful and friendly manner. I would recommend John to anyone who is having trouble with threatening and demanding bailiffs.

John Galt is a great asset and I wish him all the best for the future as I have saved around £900+ of unnecessary bailiff fees as well as a whole load of sleepless nights.

Norman Hendricks from Stoke on Trent

My car was clamped by a bailiff because of a parking fine that I had actually paid.

I was just browsing on the internet and stressing when I saw John’s website, so I rang him to see what he could do for me. I hired him and followed his advice and suggestions.

Guess what? The clamp was off four days later!

I just want to thank John for helping me with my problem - he has saved me £600 in bailiff fees by pointing out lawful exemptionsI have to bailiff enforcement action.

I say this to all those people who are reading this: This is not a scam. John really knows his stuff. If you’re in the same situation as I was, try him, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

P.S. You should have seen the bailiff’s face when he came back to open the clamp which he put on illegally!

Cedric Brannigan, Cardiff

I’ve saved over a thousand pounds in bailiff fees by hiring you for £125!

Thanks for all the help in getting the clamp off my car. The way this was handled by you was very quick and professional, but you were also very approachable and easy-going about it.

J Simon, London E11

I had changed address and so had no way knowing about a couple of parking tickets that I was never given the chance to either defend or pay. The response by the bailiffs was disproportionate to the original fine and was nothing more than an attempt to intimidate me into paying amounts that bear no relation to the original debt.

In these circumstances, I am grateful for John’s calm advice about my legal right to use the court system to reverse the clock back to the time when the original ticket was issued. The by-product of this is that bailiff action must be cancelled.

I will now be paying just the tickets but no bailiff fees on top, saving me nearly £750 in total bailiff fees for the two warrants. Thank you John for your continued help in resolving this.

Adrian, Ilford

I had a bailiff turn up at my house demanding £460 for a £60 parking ticketand he was only giving me 7 days to make payment or he would come in to remove my goods.

I will be honest; when I first read the home page I thought this could be a scam to get money from vulnerable people and thought I could send money off and never hear anything again.

Deciding to take a punt, I phoned John anyway. He listened to my situation and then advised me of what the bailiff could do or couldn’t do by law. He even emailed me a document which was titled 'What to do when a bailiff calls' and advised me to hang this on the back of my front door until I received notice that the warrant was cancelled.

Sure enough, within an hour John was texting, phoning and emailing me for more information specific to my case so that he could help me construct the necessary paperwork to get the warrant cancelled and also to question and challenge the bailiff's £400 fees.

I submitted papers to the bailiff firm and the courts as per his suggestions, hoping for the best but still not entirely convinced.

Imagine what was going through my head when I called the court this morning to be told that the warrant was suspended and the bailiffs called off!

It's become apparent that John is either a magician or a very hard working, knowledgeable individual that can guide people professionally with excellent fast service. Basically, he did exactly what he said on the tin! I saved £400 in bailiff fees and am now experiencing indescribable relief.

Augustin & Pamela, Dagenham

bailiff-mediation.com are a Godsend!

Bailiffs clamped my wife's car without any notice at about 11am on a Thursday. Only then did they then called her, threatening all sorts, like breaking the locks of our home and coming back with a policeman to let them in.

I called John at about 3pm same day. I faxed and scanned him the documents he asked for and paid his fee. He advised us on the next step and helped us to write, fax and email the bailiff firm pointing out the exemptions that we have from bailiff action and the incorrect procedure that the bailiff had done due to the car being used solely and personally for my wife's business use.

By Friday 11am, the clamp had mysteriously disappeared!

It was like a dream - unbelievably fast and I know that John diligently worked til 1am on that Thursday night, just to get everything to me for first thing Friday morning. We'd certainly recommend him.

Kerry Smith, Leicester

I'd had a card from a bailiff company pushed through my letterbox saying bailiffs were going to be paying me a visit the next day to remove goods.

I called John on his mobile phone during a BANK HOLIDAY as I was DESPERATE to have an immediate solution to my bailiff problem related to them coming in to seize goods that belonged to my landlord, not me.

I apologised for calling during a bank holiday and then explained my situation. John assured me that he could work 10am to 10pm 365 days of the year if necessary and asked me to email or fax him some documents related to my problem. He promised to supply knowledge and support to me as soon as he got these documents from me (He also told me to give him 30 minutes as he was a bit busy feeding a horse??? - never did understand that bit!).

Within ONE HOUR, John emailed me my legal position and some instructions and suggestions for what I could do next, which I implemented by faxing, emailing and posting my lawful exemptions from bailiff action to the bailiff firm immediately so that they would have it BEFORE they opened up for the business the next working day.

I cannot express my gratitude enough about how anybody can give the immediate help, support and peace of mind that I received as I had been obsessing about this problem for the past few days.

Thank you so much for your speed, efficiency and integrity John. I will certainly be recommending your services to others. The fee I paid you was well worth the peace of mind I have now.

Janet Martin, Ramsgate

The day I found John on the internet certainly helped me and I am sure it would be the same for you.

After trying to sort my problems out for myself, without any success, a bailiff visit was looming, I really did not know what to do. I decided to look on the internet to see if there was any one who could help me, that’s where I came across John.

I telephoned John and explained my situation. He immediately told me what to do and under no circumstances to let them in. He also made me feel better about the whole situation. He then followed this up with an email setting out what I could do next. I took the advice he gave.

Whenever I contacted John he would get back to me within an hour by phone, e-mail or text. Any letters or paperwork that came through, I just faxed them through to John for advice and he would make suggestions and give options and possible consequences on what to send back. All this would be done within an hour or less (despite John being all over the country). All John’s hard work paid off and we got the result we were after, which was to get the High Court warrant cancelled and for us to get on with our normal lives.

I cannot express enough how grateful I am to John, without whose help we would never have got through this terrible time, and achieved the right result on our own.

I would highly recommend John to anyone who is still deciding whether to hire him - he not only gives a professional friendly service, he also gives the support that a lot of us need in these difficult times.

Martin Chapman, Macclesfield

I'd just to thank you for the help and advice you gave me on exemptions from bailiff action. Through the court, I got the fine plus bailiff charges reduced from £340 down to £115 and also made arrangements on payments AND got the bailiffs removed from the situation!

Would like to thank you again.

Shiraj Ali, London

You may remember I contacted you back in April regarding a problem with the Council sending me a £23,398(!) rates bill, then reducing to £750 (!), which they then sent a bailiff to my door for recovery.

Thanks for all your help and guiding me through the process of not giving up and for acting on it professionally. The council have confirmed today there is nothing to pay and is sending me this in writing.

I think you have done everything on your part. Thank you for uncovering their illegal attempt at levy. With your speedy response and your step-by-step guidance to get this far, it was amazing!

Lewis Khaka, Croydon

I have found your service very useful and will not hesitate to refer you to other people in similar situations. I was happy you were able to point me in the right direction to recover my illegally seized property. Even though my case was unusual from what you normally deal with, your hard work and resourcefulness have left me fully satisfied and able to work again because I now have my computers back.

D Callow, Leicester

The bailiff called me about my unpaid council tax and told me that he had a warrant that would allow him entry into my house to remove goods. He told me that he was allowed to enter by force because he had a walk-in possession order so he could break his way in, even if I was not at home. He also said that he would clamp my car. I don't mind admitting, I was thoroughly frightened and immobilised by his harsh manner.

I called John who immediately put my mind at ease by explaining that he was not allowed to enter by force and that he would be breaking all sorts of rules if he did.

The bailiff company were faxed and emailed to ask the case be put on hold pending me coming up with evidence that I am a single mother on state benefits with an under-age daughter at home and therefore exempt from enforcement action. A full breakdown of the bailiff's fees was asked for.

An hour after the fax was received, the bailiff phoned me to say that he is coming into my house using force if necessary and will be taking my car. I asked him if he got the fax and as well as telling him that the warrant was unenforceable due to having a 16 year-old girl alone in the house. Bailiff replied: I don't care - it makes no difference to me at all. I'm coming anyway to take your things. This left me extremely worried, but John saw me through quickly, efficiently and calmly. The bailiff hasn't been back since. Thank you for everything you did for me John.

M Ali, Newcastle

Bailiffs came to my home to collect for council tax on a property that I let out. Wouldn't listen to me when I tried to explain that I don't live there and that it's the tenant's bill not mine. Bailiff wanted to take my car, which is on HP and also without which I can't carry out my business activities. I was initially hesitant to call you, but I'm glad I did. Thanks to you, their action is ended and I can rest easy and live normally. I feel that a huge weight has been lifted from my chest.

Pedro Miguel Sousa da Rocha, London E1:

"My mobile phone retail business took a downturn and life wasn't much fun. I couldn't pay the fixed costs such as business rates. To compound a lack of income, bailiffs were knocking on my door to repo the desks and computers. You managed to show the bailiffs that I needed my data-protected computers to trade and would not be able to function without necessary office items. The stuff was returned and I am trading again and I have now made arrangements with the council to pay rates arrears at a reduced amount. Had I not been left with my things, I would almost certainly have gone bankrupt. Thanks guys!"

Kate Simmons SE28:

"I was heavily pregnant when the bailiffs knocked on the door of my parents' house. Due to having moved house away from my abusive ex, I was not even aware that I had the speeding fine or points. You have done a great job - I didn't know that pregnant women are not be approached. Obviously, now that I have knowledge of the original fine, I have paid it, but thanks to you I didn't need to pay all the bailiff fees on top."

Tom O'Flaherty TN3:

"My ice cream van was returned on the basis that it's used daily as my sole source of income. Great work and fast, too!"
